
Simplified Kundalini Yoga (SKY Yoga)
The present study is mainly focused on Simplified Kundalini Yoga in enhancing the mental health of higher secondary students. Simplified Kundalini Yoga was founded by “Yogiraj Vethathiri Maharishi” through the World Community Service Centre in 1958.
He said that man is a unique figure in the manifestation of the universe. Humans are supreme among all the living beings on earth because man is gifted with the sixth sense, which is the potential for self-realization. All his deeds, enjoyment, and experiences are imprinted in him, and he conditions his character and qualities. The imprint consists of two layers, such as the first imprint layer is the deed and experiences condition the character of man that is called “Prarabdha Karma” that is caused by him from the date of his birth to the present. The second imprint layer is called “Sanjitha Karma” which is derived from numerous generations, from parents, and their ancestral links down the evolutionary process. Additionally, any new thought arising in man from his previously conditioned character is called “Aakamya Karma”. The Aakamya Karma should be transformed through self-awareness and realization of consciousness, and turning the sixth sense in man inward to its source can do this. The collective function of the energy particles within the physical body produces a characteristic magnetic wave called the bio-current, known as the “Kundalini Shakti” or life force or astral body. The soul or Astral Shakti consists of sensation, need, effort, action, result, enjoyment, experience, realization, and conclusion. The main centre of the soul is the “Mooladhara”, also known as the “sexual gland”. It is possible to raise the life force to the “Agnya Chakra”, that is the point between the eyebrows, it is called the eye of wisdom, which is breathing exercises and chanting of mantras were prescribed by the sages previously which took a long time to take effect. Therefore, the simplified kundalini yoga is a new and extremely safe method suitable for all people. This yoga includes a system of simple physical exercises, Kaya kalpa yoga, meditation, and steady introspection a combined practice of this world that enables man and leads him to realization. Also, this yoga method is important to improve mental health among the students to maintain mental well-being, stress reduction, and emotional balance.
